We asked the Paris-based gallery owner Anne-Sarah Bénichou to highlight her 3 must-see events at Paris Gallery Weekend, which will place in the days between 26 – 27 May all around the city.
Lafayette Anticipations Foundation
In the Marais, I recommend the Lafayette Anticipations Foundation which just opened at 9 rue du Plâtre in March, after seven years of work. The old building has been completely renovated by Rem Koolhaas. It is an absolutely magnificent place, with a smart programming. The place alone is worth the detour!

Zadkine Museum
I also invite you to discover the Zadkine Museum, in the 6th arrondissement, near the Luxembourg garden. Quite unknown by foreigners, it is a small jewel nestled in the heart of a garden that presents works by the sculptor but also very beautiful exhibitions mixing modern and contemporary art.

Exhibition at Galerie Anne-Sarah Bénichou
Finally, I propose you to discover the new exhibition that I will dedicate in my gallery to the artists Julien Creuzet, Mimosa Echard and Daniel Otero Torres. For the fifth edition of Paris Gallery Weekend, I invited these three artists to elaborate a proposal around the form and the narrativity. Their works, but also the voice of Bronwyn Katz, will take hold of the gallery’s space to create a dialogue between new works (sculptures, drawings, installations) based on Gauguin’s quotation, which gives the exhibition its title. “I went tonight to smoke a cigarette on the sand by the sea”, with JULIEN CREUZET, MIMOSA ECHARD, DANIEL OTERO TORRES, May 26 to July 22, 2018 – Opening on Saturday May 26 from 3 pm to 7 pm.

About Anne-Sarah Bénichou
Anne-Sarah Bénichou opened her gallery in Paris (Le Marais) in March 2016. The gallery represents French and foreign artists from various generations, and shows regular solo exhibitions, among them the American photographer Seton Smith, the emerging artist Massinissa Selmani, the established 90 years old Marion Baruch, the young drawer Chourouk Hriech, and the renown novelist, video maker and drawer Valérie Mréjen.
The gallery aims to promote dialogue between different eras and various forms of art through exhibitions that seek to question contemporary art in our society, its place and the form it can take. Many scholars, art critics and curators take part in these initiatives and provide a detailed look at the work of the artists.
